Klickitat County Solid Waste Department is dedicated to educating its residents and providing a comprehensive set of resources. We have a beautiful county and in order to keep it that way we need each of you to participate. These campaigns are ways for us to do public outreach of specific programs that have a major impact on our waste management.

Washington State recently passed a law requiring a 50% reduction in food waste going to the landfill. Pete personally diverts 10,000 pounds of fruit and vegetable pulp from a local juicer to run experiments on how to transform food waste
into living soil.
Peter will be discussing Composting at the Goldendale Library on June 23rd, 2026 at 5pm. Come join us!
